Amara

Amara Side Table, 2018

Amara is an exercise in subtlety that serves as a punctuation mark for modern living. A small side table, available in pink or Carrara marble, is formed with a delicate edge detail and a base that recesses as it meets the floor. Made from a solid block of marble, the table is hollowed out to reduce the physical weight while maintaining the clean, simple lines.

Magazine

Magazine Table, 2014

Zig Zag

Zig Zag Bookcase, 2014

Conceived as a bookcase designed to break up the plane of a wall, Zig Zag is a modular system which works as a dynamic backdrop or a transparent room divider. The system begins with a minimum of two modules and can extend to an infinite length. Mirrored black glass shelves support the clean linear graphic quality of the staggered structure.

Zig Zag is handcrafted in Chicago of powder coated steel.

Florentine

Florentine Pendant, 2014

Inspired by the Renaissance architecture of Florence, Italy, Florentine fixtures address concepts of positive and negative space. The pendants conceal an LED bulb within the central cylinder, removing an expected visual and expressing absence rather than presence of the bulb. Three formal variations work effectively as individual fixtures or within aligned or overlapping groupings.

Florentine Pendant is handcrafted in Chicago of powder coated steel.

These statement LED lights, whether hung alone or in a cluster, make for a playfully modern home accessory. The LED light bulb is concealed within the central cylinder, allowing for more refined composition. Available in three shapes and sold individually, these pendant lights bring uniqueness and character into any space.

Shift

Shift Table, 2010

Inspired by the materiality and architecture of the Pantheon in Rome, the Shift occasional table provides playful interaction with the user, raising questions of what defines a table. The central void does not allow for the accumulation of objects and instead gives the table the freedom to be itself and questions the subject/object relationship. Shift was selected for inclusion in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019.

Unir

Unir Table, 2010

Playing with tension and notions of Japanese joinery, the Unir Table shifts one’s perspective when in use due to the asymmetrical quality of the table. The table also challenges assumptions around the hierarchy and power dynamics of the archetypal table by redefining how spaces can be occupied. The table takes its inspiration and name from the Italian word Unire meaning coming together or bringing together.

Unir Table is handcrafted in Chicago of powder coated steel and glass. 126 x 36 x 29 in.

Lume

Lume LED Chandelier, 2010

Inspired by the mobiles of Alexander Calder, Lume is a kinetic chandelier that captures the effect of a starry night. A canopy floating over moving arms provides a separate, dimmable light LED ring that washes the ceiling and provides a balance of functional and sculptural light. At the time it was designed and built (pre-LED chips), Lume represented an innovation in the use of single point LEDs and in the use of coaxial cable both as a means of structure and as a means to run electrical current throughout the chandelier from arm to arm.
