I am trained as an architect. Obsessed with objects. With things. Influenced by a period of life lived in Milan. Grounded in the roots of modernism. I am driven by originality. Seeking the new. Finding the gaps. I believe in practicality. I want my work to be in the world. To be real. In fact, to be functional. Highly so.
Each project begins with a new look at an existing paradigm. Through a process that deliberately questions assumptions. Analyzes archetypes. And reinvents typologies. Complexity is resolved through minimalist language. Every detail of every element of every project is meticulously considered. Its form. Its material. Its scale. Its environment. Insistently placed in context. Success is defined by the realization of seemingly simple objects that exist harmoniously in the domestic sphere. Literally at home.
My aim is to imagine and to create objects that are beautiful. And useful. Crafted in collaboration with master artisans. Of meaningful use in cultural, domestic, and social settings. Objects that possess qualities of timelessness. Of whimsy. Not elevated beyond the everyday. But objects that elevate every day.
